ESSAY CONTEST SCHEDULE AND RULES                2008 Contest Pictures

 

The topic is "Today's Choices Shape My Future".  Youth under the age of 19 as of December 31 of the current school year (December 31, 2007) are eligible.

 

An application with detailed rules is attached as a PDF file, and these must be adhered to carefully.

January 23rd                                   Essays are due to the Bloomfield Hills Optimists c/o my address below by 6pm.

January 25 - Feb 8                            Essays are judged               

February 11th                                    Top three essays identified, authors and families invited to Recognition Breakfast

February 21st                                    Bloomfield Hills Optimist Club Recognition Breakfast

February 28th                                    Bloomfield Hills entrant entered in Michigan competition

 

The limit per school is 5 essays.  If you have a larger program at your school, please choose the best 5 essays and send them to us.  (As you can imagine, if all schools participate, our three judges would be reading 60 essays!!)
